Thhis is the 4th handbook being printed by WOOD-PELLETS.COM publishing house in the series of biofuel handbooks since 2005. The book will continue the topic of biofuel use for energy production. This time Ц heat energy, as well as electricity. There are hundreds of diverse publications on solid fuel combustion technologies, boilers, burners, power generation published in Russian language. But what most of them lack are:
- systematic and simple for understanding explanation of how biomass can in practice be used for energy production
- economic analysis of biomass application for energy production in Russia.
The handbook addresses practical people: engineers responsible for heat and power supply and industrial enterprises, energy officials on municipal, regional, federal levels, boiler house and power station owners and engineers Ц all those, who need to understand their possibilities to use diverse biomass for power and/or heat production. The book is by no means a scientific publication. Its contents are based on open fundamental and applied publications, as well as practical experience of authors and their colleagues in different countries. We have no ambition to cover the topic in all details and aspects. It is meant to support analysis and decision-making process performed by managers and entrepreneurs Ц not scientists or research and development engineers.
Using this hand book one will be able to:
- Define how the available biomass resources can be efficiently used to heat/power production
- Calculate economic results of switching from fossil fuel to biofuel
- Understand what a biomass boiler house or a CHP plant has to consist of
